Svindelic company member Michael Bauer created and performed a new Cyr Wheel act for Cafe Le Monde, at Columbia University this past weekend. Michael worked with Ines Garcia to come up with this a clown/cyr wheel/acro act. You can see a clip of the act here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMaVsfjeAZA
Svindelic company members Courtney Giannone and Harold Moeller perform this week in “Spun,” a variety arts show at Dixon Place theater to benefit the Bee Fund. The Bee Winkler Weinstein Fund is the healing action of cofounders Dorothy Calvani & Dava Weinstein when Dava’s inheritance was greatly diminished because of her sexual identity. That demeaning inheritance now helps young women discarded by their families. For more information, please check out their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bees-Fund/161388994007880
Congratulations to Svindelic Instructor Courtney Giannone and her student, Mary Susan Sinclair-Kuenning, for placing 2nd and 4th in the USA Wheel gymnastics competition. Both of them will go on to represent team USA this June at the CSIT 2015 World Sporting Games in Lignano, Italy. We wish them the best of luck!

Michael Bauer and Randy Kato wowed the crowd at John Jay College when they debuted Halftime Hoops for the NYC Gay Basketball League Championships.
Halftime Hoops is the latest addition to Svindelic’s repertoire. It is a basketball game halftime crowd-pleaser designed for 2-4 (or more) Cyr wheels.
Svindelic was invited back to present a workshop at this year’s American Youth Circus Organization NYC regional festival. Instructors Randy Kato and Harold Moeller got a great group of kids going in the wheel.
Today’s class held an interesting lesson in muscle memory. One student took last year’s workshop – the one and only time she’d tried Cyr wheel. She came back for today’s workshop and was spinning like a top!
Big thanks to the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, Playful Productions, Circus Warehouse, and all the circus lovers who came out to play!
Courtney Giannnone once again takes the stage with Company XIV in their latest show, Rococo Rouge, a baroque variety show centered around the theme of Love and its many forms. You can see her dance and perform cyr (on a very small stage!) through November every tuesday-sunday night at 428 Lafayette St, Astor Place.
Fun times at the studio as we wrap up a week of training with the amazing and lovely Angelica Bongiovonni. It was such a pleasure to learn from one of our inspirations!
Svindelic company members were honored to be a part of Courtney Giannone’s circus variety show, Tip of the Tongue this May. Courtney directed and choreographed this piece along with Ashley Dragonn. Harold Moeller played the busking emcee, Mike Bauer and Randy Kato played a pair of cyr-wheeling star crossed lovers, and the highlight of the evening was Courtney’s Cyr Wheel shadow and light solo. This was also the first production to feature Svindelic’s cyr wheel students Theron James, and Mary Susan Sinclair-Kuenning on the roue cyr at the performance level!
